About Lumina

Every Lumina lamp is designed by us and 3D printed to order, so each one is made fresh for you.

A 3D printer building a lamp layer by layer

Who we are

Built one layer
at a time.

Every Lumina lamp is made by a 3D printer. Plastic filament is fed into a heated nozzle, melted, and laid down in layers thinner than a sheet of paper. The nozzle traces the shape of the lamp, the layer cools and hardens, and the next one is placed on top, over and over until the lamp is complete.

We print each lamp in two parts, a solid base and a ribbed shade. The shade is printed with thin walls so light passes through it, which gives the soft glow. Printing this way lets us make rounded ribs and smooth curves that would be hard to shape any other way, and it uses only the plastic each lamp needs.

Each lamp is printed to order, so nothing sits in a warehouse. A single lamp takes hours to print, and every one is checked before it's boxed up and sent to you.
